Ippitsusen
Ippitsusen (一筆箋), translating to "one-stroke paper" or "one-line letter," is designed for writing short, thoughtful messages or used for journaling and scrapbooking.
These narrow, rectangular pads are lovely to use when a full letter is too formal or lengthy, but a simple card is too casual.
Each ippitsusen is made from mino washi, a paper from Gifu that has been crafted the same way for over a thousand years. It’s known for being incredibly strong despite how light it feels. It is designed to handle ink beautifully, preventing excessive feathering while maintaining a crisp line—making it perfect for fountain pens or gel pens. It’s a delight to write on.
We have many new designs from our favourite Japanese Illustrators: Subikiawa, Nishi Shuku and Masao Takahata. We’re also excited to have works by Japanese illustrators including: Mariko Fukuoka, Sayuri Fujimaki, Taku Bannai, Reiko Tada & Kano Hirabayashi.
